The short version: what the gate does, and what you give up for it.
What it is
A FOMOPAD coin is an ordinary Solana token with one thing added: a gate. Before any transfer of the coin can settle, the gate looks at the wallet that would receive it and checks that wallet against a list held on chain. On the list, the transfer goes through. Not on the list, the whole transaction fails and nothing moves.
The list is the wallets that trade inside the FOMO app. So the coin belongs to that crowd, and it stays there. It is not a rule the front end enforces and it is not a promise we make. It is the token refusing to move.
That last part matters more than it sounds. Because the check runs inside the token itself, it does not matter which exchange, aggregator or wallet someone tries. There is no route around it, because there is nothing to route around.
What you can do with one
- Buy it, if your wallet is on the list
- Sell it back to the curve, any time
- Hold it, or burn it
- Buy it from a wallet that is not on the list
- Send it to a wallet that is not on the list
- Trade it on a market whose wallets are not on the list
Selling is never the thing that breaks. The curve's own pool sits on the list permanently, so a holder can always sell back to it. A gate that could trap you would not be worth launching on.
Launching
Name it, pick a ticker, add an image. One transaction creates the coin with the gate already attached and opens its bonding curve. There is no second step and no approval to wait for: anyone can launch, the gate only decides who can buy.
The on-chain launcher is still being wired up. The form works today; the button waits.
Graduation
A coin that reaches about $80,000 in market cap graduates off the curve into a standing pool, and the gate lifts. From that point anyone can buy it.
The gate is for the curve. Its job is to decide who gets in early, and once a coin has left the curve there is no early left to protect — an allowlist would only make it unsellable on the venue it just moved to.
Lifting it is not a favour we do. The program reads Meteora's own pool and refuses unless that pool says the migration has happened, so nobody can open a coin sooner, us included. Anyone can pay the thousandth of a SOL it costs to send; we do it because somebody has to.
The honest limits
The list is not perfect. It is tuned so that a wallet that was added always passes, which is the half that matters, but a small number of wallets that were never added will pass anyway. We aim for roughly one in a thousand. If exact exclusion is what you need, this is not the tool.
The list can grow but never shrink. Wallets can be added at any time and nobody can be taken off afterwards. That protects holders from being cut out later. It also means a mistake is permanent.
Trading inside the FOMO app is the intent, not a verified integration. The gate is live and works — an allowlisted wallet trades the coin, anything else is refused — but FOMO is a separate company and nothing here is endorsed by or affiliated with them.
A gate that can block a buy can block a sell. Your exit depends on the list staying correct. That is the deal, and it is the same deal for every holder, large or small.
